Smart kitchen appliance distributor, Breville® Philippines, becomes the first corporate member of Disciples de Escoffier International- Philippines (DDE). Over the past 80 years, Breville® has grown to become an iconic Australian brand. The brand remains at the forefront of brilliant innovative solutions for your kitchen needs.

The roots of The Disciples De Escoffier (DDE) can be traced backed during the Grand Prix Culinaure Auguste Escoffier competition organized by Jean Ducroux of the Fraternelle des Cuisinieres in Nice, France in 1954.

It was in the early 1960s, when they formed the first chapter of Les Disciples d’Auguste Escoffier with 80 members. From there, the association grew throughout France and beyond. The association was restructured in the late 1980s under Secretary General Bernard Louis Jaunet to bring together all the French and foreign delegations under the single banner of L’Ordre International des Disciples d’Auguste Escoffier or the International Order of the Disciples of Auguste Escoffier.

Today, the Association counts more than 25,000 members in the world who are present in over 20 countries including the Philippines, founded by Chef Philip John Golding.

Just recently the Chairman of DDE Asia, Chef Robert Fontana was in the country to discuss plans of the association, as well as a meet and greet with its local members, several chefs, various culinary schools, industry service providers, suppliers and the media. During the two-day visit, Breville® supported by way of technical support, coordination, promotions, as well as serving sumptuous snacks and endless coffee.

Breville® supports DDE’s four pillars: Equality and Appearance - the Disciples have no difference of rank, their enthronement is identical, Knowledge and Transmission - the Disciples will share and transmit their knowledge, Culture and Modernity - the Disciples respect the Culinary History and laud a perpetual evolution of Cooking and Gastronomy, and Generosity and Unity - the Disciples also support charitable causes such as giving opportunities for people with special needs to develop their culinary talents and give them a chance to shine not only in the culinary industry but also within the community.

Breville® is available at all leading appliance and specialty stores nationwide. For more information, log on to www.breville.com.ph. For more information about DDE, visit www.disciples-escoffier-asia.com.
